Q

Access restricted at port 4324

I have recently downloaded and installed Zone Alarm, a firewall program. I have noticed that on one of my four computers Internet access is repeatedly restricted to my computer at TCP port 4324. At first I figured it was just doing its job, but none of my other computers has half of the alerts that this one computer has. Do you have any information on this TCP port or anything I can do to secure it better from future attacks?

Port 4324 is not registered with Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for any particular service. Therefore, almost any program could be using that port for who-knows-what service. Without a lot more information, it is impossible to tell what might be happening.

For reference, the list of registered and well-known port numbers can be found at IANA.
