Q

Browser-supplied encryption vs. user-created keys

Where can I find a written comparison of the security available using browser-supplied encryption with that available from user-created public and private keys, e.g., Entrust or PGP?

I don't know of a comparison. Basically, if you are talking encryption security, they are practically speaking identical. Browser-supplied encryption uses public key crypto.
