The CISSP requires three years of hands-on, information-security experience, so unless you've been reasonably technical in your sales job you may have to do some fast talking to meet that requirement. That said, if you can take and pass the exam, you should certainly be entitled to carry the certification. I've done so several times myself and found their phone staff to be polite, quick and very well informed.
