The Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP) seems to be one of the more comprehensive certifications around. In fact, I was so impressed with the CHP documentation, I've chosen to use it as part of a HIPAA and CHP test prep class at a local university. I don't, however, know how widespread or popular this certification is yet. There are other similar, yet less HIPAA-specific certifications such as the AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) or the HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) sponsored Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Certified in Healthcare Security certifications. This is such a new market, it'll take some time to see how things shake out. If you're looking for certification to demonstrate your understanding of HIPAA, the HIPAA Academy certification appears to be the way to go for now.
