Q

Maintaining security after cleaning an infected system

I recently changed my virus-detection software from McAfee Clinic to Norton Antivirus with their System Works program.

On my first full scan I found that I had two Trojan horses and one worm, which I believe was called magistrate or something close to that. I since have installed a Linksys 4 port router and Zone-Lab firewall, along with the Norton products. I guess what I need to know is if I'm safe at this point, or is there something else in the security realm that I should be doing or watching for?

I would suggest getting AdAware to inspect for spyware, and The Cleaner to look for Trojans.

Keep everything up to date (including all your other applications) and you'll be fairly well protected.
