Vendors of HIPAA manuals are saying there are updates still coming up. I checked with HHS, NIC, CMS and the last update stands as of August 2002, by average. I am on the e-mail list of CMS and NIC for any new updates, but I don't receive any information. A co-worker insists that I am behind, as she gets her information on the Internet. Help, please?
The only thing that I'm aware of that has come out since the modifications to the Privacy Rule in August 2002 is the announcement of The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) conducting privacy conferences in early 2003 along with the OCR releasing "Guidance Explaining Significant Aspects of the Privacy Rule" that was published in December 2002.
