Removing Trojan not detected by antivirus software

Removing Trojan not detected by antivirus software

I have a feeling that my best pal has sent me a Trojan as an attachment. I checked the extension, but I did not find anything funny in it. Even the Trojan dectector and remover I am using has not spotted it. Is there any way to remove it without corrupting any applications? I fear the Trojan would have made the entries in the registry, which I think will corrupt the office and other applications relying on the registry.
