Q

Vulnerable entrance port

After taking a security check of my system through Norton, I was told that I had a vulnerable entrance port. I use Norton and keep it updated. How is this possible since I check/install Norton updates as soon as they are available?

I presume that you are using the Norton personal firewall software to perform that port check.

The fact that you have the latest updates to your antivirus software only means that your PC is protected against the known viruses covered by the software. A new virus could come out today and infect your machine before you download the latest updates. At that point, you have a clean- up situation to deal with.
