What is malware?

Malware is a term gaining currency amongst those who deal with all the variants and combinations we see these days. The term itself comes from "malicious" and "software." Examples of malware would include viruses, worms, Trojan horses, self-mailers and hostile HTML, Active-X, Java and JavaScript and Visual Basic Script.
