QUESTION POSED ON: 13 March 2002
I must have visited a Web site or opened an e-mail, but now my Web browser automatically attempts to access a certain Web site about once every hour. I assume this malicious web site put a code in my system. How can I stop this?

EXPERT RESPONSE

This could be either a case of Start Page hijacking or a spyware module on your system.

This site has some info that you might find useful: http://www.spywareinfo.com/hijacked.html

I'd certainly suggest that you download and run AdAware, as it will track down many of the changes caused by spyware.
