QUESTION POSED ON: 13 April 2001
Normally, what precautions should one take while configuring a Web server under Windows NT4.0 and Windows 2000 server? Default configuration of these OSs might open some security holes. What resources would you recommend for learning more about this?

>
Best bet is to consult an NT or 2000 security book. There are a number on the market. Or use a product like CyberCop to test the vulnerability of your system. Then turn off ALL network services you don't need.

Searchsecurity's sister site SearchWin2000.com also offers some good resource pointers.
