QUESTION POSED ON: 06 August 2001
I recently received an e-mail attachment that I couldn't open because the
virus protection software caught it. The sender tried to make it seem like a Word document calling it finalexamination.doc.com. I believe the sender's intentions were deliberate, but I would like to make sure.

Don't forget that there are a number of viruses out there now with the
capability to spread themselves. It is entirely possible and likely that the
sender is unaware of the the fact that they sent you a virus.
It is always a good idea to contact the sender and let them know that
they are sending out viruses. Most often, they will thank you and take
the steps to disinfect their machines.
