Sondra Schneider, Founder and CEO, Security University
Sondra has been teaching, consulting and advising on intrusion detection and PKI for the past eight years and is the founder and CEO of Security University, a Connecticut-based information security training company. An 18 year industry veteran, Sondra wanted to bring hands-on security training to her network and security peers. Her quest to build informed, knowledgeable security professionals has taken her around the world. Sondra is a frequent speaker at security and technology conferences, has created international partnerships and has trained security professionals in multiple languages.
As a senior information security management consultant, Sondra specialized in network perimeter security, vulnerability auditing, intrusion detection, advanced authentication and PKI systems, wireless and broadband networks. In her career, Sondra has seen hundred's of thousands of unsecure networks. Prior to founding Security University, she was a co-founder of IFSEC, an information security consulting firm in New York City, where she was responsible for business strategy and new business development. As partner of new business development, she was responsible for the introduction and implementation of intrusion detection and public key infrastructure solutions for customer networks like AT&T and managed services, as well as implementing information security training programs for IDS and PKI. Capitalizing on her earlier product experience as northeast director of business development for the WheelGroup (acquired by Cisco), Sondra brought real-time intrusion-detection systems and tools to telecommunication, healthcare, financial institutions and Fortune 500 customers. Previously, Sondra was an Internet specialist and senior data network engineer at ATT.
