CISSP introduction: A video guide to the CISSP exam

In this CISSP Essentials Security School presentation, expert instructor Shon Harris offers a CISSP introduction. Learn about the 10 domains of the Common Body of Knowledge, typical exam content and what to expect after you pass the test.

The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is the most sought-after and respected certification in the information security industry, and is a critical credential to opening doors in one's information security career. The CISSP exam is challenging and covers a vast array of complex and in-depth topics; many deem it as a remarkably difficult exam to pass.

In this SearchSecurity CISSP Essentials Security School introductory video, expert exam instructor Shon Harris, CEO and founder of Logical Security, outlines the fundamentals of the CISSP exam and previews what will be covered throughout the various lessons.

Harris begins by introducing herself and her background, and sets the stage by offering more insight about what is involved in becoming a CISSP. Harris provides an overview to the 10 domains of the Common Body of Knowledge and explains which industries and sectors require CISSP credentials.

Next, Harris covers the content of the exam including question formats, how the score is calculated, exam requirements and more. Harris finishes by discussing what you can expect after the exam -- and what is required once you have passed -- as well as the number of exciting new career opportunities you may expect.
