DEFINITION - 802.16c is a set of clarifications and updates to the 102.16 family of wireless communications specifications for metropolitan area networks (MANs). The 802.16 standards, also known as WiMAX, complement the older 802.11 (WiFi) family of specifications. 802.16c was approved in December 2002 and released in January 2003 by IEEE 802.16 Task Group C.

The 802.16c documentation was developed for wireless networks operating on licensed radio-frequency (RF) bands between 10 GHz and 66 GHz. It is concerned with detailed system profiling, performance evaluation, and testing.
