Technical article: Network access control: Compliance enabler or detractor?
Network access control (NAC) has been portrayed as the killer application for the security-enabled network. By offering more granular pre- and post-admission control, NAC promises to more effectively protect enterprise networks from outbreaks and shield valuable applications from intrusion. What's not clear is how NAC helps organizations ensure compliance with corporate policies and/or regulatory requirements. In this article, Mike Rothman will clarify how and when NAC helps contribute to compliance efforts and how a strong NAC posture can not only increase security, but also keep the auditors at bay.

Podcast: The evolving security organization
Length: 10 minutes
As security is further embedded into the network fabric and subsumed into the carrier cloud, the roles and responsibilities of the security practitioner inevitably must change. In this podcast, Rothman highlights various techniques to add value to the organization regardless of where security happens in the network, ensuring that the security function thrives far into the future.
