Tektronix Communications Inc. said it inked a deal to acquire Arbor Networks Inc., a supplier of network security and traffic management technology to ISPs and other service providers.
Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in September, were not disclosed.
Plano, Texas-based Tektronix, a provider of network performance monitoring and network diagnostics products and services, said the acquisition of Arbor Networks expands the company's portfolio into security.
Chelmsford, Mass.-based Arbor Networks' products include Arbor Peakflow, a distributed denial-of-service (DDos) prevention system, and the Arbor eSeries for broadband service optimization.
The acquisition will allow Arbor "to accelerate the delivery of infrastructure security solutions that are critical to the success of converged carrier network operators and next-generation data centers," Colin Doherty, Arbor's CEO, said in a press release Monday.
