SecuGen integrates fingerprint technology into Novell Modular Authentication Service

SecuGen Corp. forms an alliance with Net services software provider Novell that will allow SecuGen the opportunity to integrate its fingerprint biometric technology into Novell's Modular Authentication Service (NMAS), which supports Windows NT 2000, NetWare, Linux, and Solaris. NMAS provides multi-factor authentication and graded authentication, enhancing network security.

Privacy software launches for financial services

Privacy Council Inc. launched privacy software and services for the financial services industry to help its businesses comply with the Financial Services Modernization Act, which tore down barriers among finance, banking and insurance companies. Federal banking agencies, state insurance regulators and federal home loan banks were required to have initial privacy and consumer protection provisions by Nov. 13. All financial-related industries must meet the privacy and security requirements of the act by July 1, 2001.

Biometrics solutions provider SecuGen partners with Digital Signature Trust combining DST's digital certificates with its capabilities to offer an e-commerce solution that enables protection of private keys. SecuGen's biometric solutions provide authentication and DST's TrustID provides digital signatures. The partnership between SecuGen and DST will enhance DST's digital identity credential offering by strengthening the authentication component of electronic transactions.
