Securant on scene for BEA applications
Clear Trust's SecureControl user access management system, a tool that centrally manages security polices that govern access, will be added to the BEA WebLogic 6.0 application server platform. SecureControl, a Java-based product, is the only access management system that provides native integration for the WebLogic platform via a plug-in module. Through this type of integration, WebLogic will be able to use SecureControl's application-level security services including authentication, authorization, access control, single sign-on, delegated administration, threat decision, policy assessment and auditing.
Heroix automates ISA server management
E-business infrastructure management software provider, Heroix, has released an application-monitoring software suite for Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000 (ISA Server). Heroix RoboMon automates ISA management, improving performance and security simultaneously, Heroix said. RoboMon also automates problem detection, reporting and monitoring, allowing for proactive management of applications and systems. ISA security data is collected and alerts are issued at the first notice of intrusion. It also monitors for conditions that indicate denial-of-service attacks. RoboMon also supports monitoring and reporting for Lotus Notes and Domino.
Sanctum, Recourse partner
Application security software provider Sanctum has partnered with Recourse Technologies, a threat management solution leader. Sanctum customers will get a solution that detects and prevents malicious activity at the network and application level. Sanctum's AppShield and AppScan products counter Web application perversion while Recourse steps in against denial-of-service attacks and gives advanced intrusion detection. AppShield is a proactive solution the blocks application manipulation through the browser. Now, in tandem with Recourse's ManTrap, AppShield will have the ability to redirect intruders to a decoy site where ManTrap tracks their moves and makes prosecution easier for infiltrated e-businesses.
Communication security from Biodata
Biodata releases SecureDesk, packaged application of encryption software that encrypts and deciphers both S/MIME and OpenPGP encryption protocols, Biodata said, adding it is the first product to combine these once incompatible standards. The software can determine the appropriate standard for message exchanges for users of either protocol. SecureDesk also offers the option of digitally signing messages, authentication the sender's identity. Biodata SecureDesk Outlook is also part of the software package. It is installed as a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook. It also offers a PKI option, Biodata PKI Enterprise Keyserver, which manages key exchanges between users and key-servers. Also included is the Biodata PKI Certificate Authority that generates and certifies user keys that act as electronic Ids in public networks.
