Virus protection comes to your IM environment
Anti-virus and security vendor, Central Command, have made available AVX for ICQ, MSN Messanger, NetMeeting, mIRC and Yahoo Messanger, free anti-virus protection for instant messaging software. The AVX Professional Scanning technology integrates into the peer-to-peer file transfer feature within popular IM applications. All incoming and saved files are intercepted by AVX and scanned, looking for viruses, Trojans, worms, backdoor programs and other malicious applications. The Web-based technology is updated daily. It scans many archive formats, including Zip, Arj, Rar, Lha, Lzh, Ace, Cab, Gz and Tar. The protection appliance is built around the AVX plug-in designed for integration across many operating systems and architectures.
