Foundstone offering wireless security Web seminar
Foundstone security assessment service provider announced a new Wireless Security Testing service this week that will assist companies' transition to wireless networks and communications. Foundstone is also offering a free wireless security Web seminar Nov. 1. The seminar will introduce organizations to the gamut of wireless threats and countermeasures. Foundstone's wireless service includes a security assessment methodology for 802.11 networks.

RSA, Maximus deliver access to government
RSA Security announced a new partnership with Maximus to deliver authentication and authorization software to government agencies. Maximus, a government consulting and services company, will train and certify its consultants to integrate RSA's SecurID two-factor authentication and smart card products, RSA ClearTrust authorization and RSA Keon digital certificate software into customers' security framework.
Database encryption made easy
Application Security has announced the availability of DbEncrypt 1.0, a product that secures information stored in database management systems from unauthorized viewing. DbEncrypt encrypts information in Oracle databases. Future versions will be available for Microsoft SQL and IBM DB2/UDB. DbEncrypt is a turnkey product that encrypts data at rest. DbEncrypt is available for $995 per database.
Air Force choose ReefEdge for LAN security
ReefEdge announced this week that the United States Air Force Air Mobility Command will use the ReefEdge Connect System to enhance the security, mobility and manageability of wireless LAN deployments in its worldwide air transportation centers that process and track cargo and passengers. Connect System requires no major hardware, network or software revamps and is compatible with today's WLAN standards. The system includes the ReefEdge Connect Server for centralized system management and ReefEdge Connect Bridges acting as firewalls at the network perimeter. It works with all mobile devices and does not require new client software.
