Sygate expands into policy enforcement

Sygate Technologies recently announced it has expanded its Sygate Secure Enterprise (SSE) software to include security policy enforcement, including enhanced host integrity checking and automated restoration features. Sygate now offers automated policy enforcement and consulting expertise. Available immediately, Sygate's policy packages ensure that Sygate customers can quickly establish and enforce best practices around wireless, instant messaging, and patch management applications.
St. Bernard updates patch management tool
St. Bernard Software announced the availability of UpdateExpert 6.0, the company's automated patch management tool that manages, tests and validates software patches. It also includes patch validation via an intelligent version checking functionality that validates files according to checksum, file size and version information. UpdateExpert 6.0 supports Windows workstations, servers and other applications. One to three-year subscription pricing plans are available and include all upgrades, technical support and access to the latest database of updates. Subscription pricing is based on the number of users and starts at $1,400 for a one-year subscription to support one to 100 workstations.
Upgraded Sophos antivirus interface available
Sophos recently announced the immediate availability of version 3 of its third-party integration product, Sophos Antivirus (SAV) Interface. Built upon the suggestions of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, SAV Interface 3 includes, among other features, improved scanning technologies, improved resilience against attack, threat reduction capabilities and availability on a wider range of operating platforms. This version is also designed to integrate a partner's solution seamlessly with Sophos' virus-detection engine. Each new feature either improves virus detection and prevention capabilities or decreases the partner's requisite integration development time.
Latis prevents intrusions with Border Guard
Latis Networks, Inc. recently announced the release of its StillSecure Border Guard v4.0. Border Guard is a family of intrusion prevention products that reduce the risk and liability from network attacks. Key new features in v4.0 include Pre-emptive Policies, centralized reporting, and Quick-tune. A StillSecure exclusive, Pre-emptive Policies empowers StillSecure Border Guard to immediately stop malicious traffic before any damage can be done. High performance is achieved because packet headers and payload contents are analyzed at a very low level in the software. Malicious headers or payloads are immediately blocked from entering the network. Pre-emptive Policies also blocks single-packet attacks.
Check Point partner program targets small businesses
Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. recently unveiled a new partner program designed to help solution providers deliver Internet security to small business customers. Enrollment in the Check Point Small Business Partner Program enables service providers to sell Check Point's Safe@ product family and VPN-1/FireWall-1 SmallOffice NG to small businesses with 100 employees or fewer and provides the tools and materials necessary to establish a strong and profitable partner relationship.
