The law requires organizations that maintain personal information on California residents to disclose any security breach of their corporate networks that could jeopardize the integrity of personal data. NFR Security's network intrusion management system monitors traffic in real time for attacks. Logs provide enterprises evidence in reporting data violation and complying with SB 1386.
Qualys to help with SB 1386 compliance
Qualys Inc. announced a campaign aimed at helping companies comply with the Security Breach Information Act in California (SB 1386) with the aid of QualysGuard. QualysGuard provides reports and enables organizations to audit their networks as well as identify and fix vulnerabilities.
Bridgewater Systems supports SIM
Bridgewater Systems announced support for EAP/SIM to allow carriers to support SIM-based Wi-Fi authentication for GSM networks. To help them provide EAP/SIM support in their products, Bridgewater Systems is partnering with SS7 gateway vendors.

Neoteris announced the Meeting Series product family, appliances for real-time, online meetings. These appliances enable secure online meetings without the need of a third-party and at a reduced cost to organizations. The Meeting Series appliances can also be combined to work with Access Series appliances for project management and document sharing. Meeting Series functionality will be available later this month; dedicated appliances will be available in the fourth quarter of 2003.
