SSH Communications announced that its SSH Cryptographic Library Software Version 1.2.0 encryption module used in the SSH Tectia client/server 4.0 received Level 1 Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 certification. With this certification from the Cryptographic Module Validation Program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), SSH Communications can now encrypt Federal unclassified information.
FaceTime's IM Guardian gateway interoperates with Symantec
Symantec announced that FaceTime's IM security gateway has been certified as interoperable with its Enterprise Security Architecture. This partnership will enable organizations with Symantec's security architecture to monitor in real-time any threats posed by instant messaging or peer-to-peer networking.
McAfee VirusScan PDA Enterprise available
Network Associates announced that the McAfee VirusScan PDA Enterprise is available. VirusScan PDA Enterprise provides antivirus software for Microsoft PocketPC and Windows handhelds and allows administrators to push updates to handhelds via McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator. Updates can be downloaded from an Internet connection, a direct wireless connection or during synchronization.
