Juniper Networks' NetScreen Secure Access now compatible with SAML standard
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Juniper Networks Inc. announced that its NetScreen Secure Access appliances have been integrated with the popular Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) standard, allowing NetScreen Secure Access appliances to seamlessly communicate with products well known in the access management arena, including those of Oblix, a developer of identity-based security solutions, according to the company. Support for the SAML standard and other advanced features are now available worldwide on the Instant Virtual Extranet version 4.1 platform for the Juniper Networks NetScreen Secure Access SSL VPN appliances.
Ounce Labs' Prexis 2.0 now available
Ounce Labs Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based security software vendor, announced the availability of Prexis 2.0, an automated source code vulnerability analysis product. Powered by Ounce Labs' patent-pending Contextual Analysis technology, Prexis scans application source code and identifies coding flaws that leave applications vulnerable to attack and exploitation. The Prexis product family includes Prexis/Insight, a security dashboard for security executives and program managers; Prexis/Pro, vulnerability identification and analysis for developers; and Prexis/Engine, source code security analysis and knowledgebase core. Prexis 2.0 is available immediately. A standard departmental bundle including Prexis/Engine and seats of Prexis/Insight and Prexis/Pro is priced at $100,000.

CyberGuard to offer proactive antivirus
CyberGuard Corp., a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based network security vendor, unveiled a new proactive antivirus feature to its Webwasher AntiVirus 5.1 and Webwasher CSM Suite 5.1. In contrast to conventional AV filtering, which is based on signatures to identify malicious code, proactive filtering analyzes Web and e-mail traffic for any anomalies. According to CyberGuard, the new capability is meant as a complement to traditional AV. The new feature will be available in Q4 with the updated versions.
