SCM rolls out new smart card reader

Description:

SCM Microsystems announced this week at RSA its new smart card reader, SCR531, packaged with USB and serial removable cables. SCM is targeting PC OEMs that deploy large numbers of readers to users with unknown configurations. The new readers, like the rest of SCM's product line, is designed to comply with Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV) Level 1 standards and with Microsoft WHQL certification for all Windows operating systems, including XP. The SCR531 will be available later this quarter.
