A well-written security policy needs to meet the needs of an organization, and be enforceable and practical. There are seven essential elements that can help you define sound language to outline a security policy's topic, scope, responsibilities and compliance requirements.

The bottom line in policy creation is to keep it simple. The number one selling newspaper in the United States is USA Today. Why? Because the articles are brief and the language is clear and concise.
