RSA 2013: Brad Arkin outlines state of Adobe security, update strategyDate: Feb 28, 2013
SAN FRANCISCO -- As of February 2013, Adobe Systems Inc. has released eight software security bulletins, double the number it had released through the same period last year. What's going on?
"The bad guys have really stepped up their attack tempo," said Brad Arkin, Adobe's senior director of product security. "We've had almost as many zero-days this year as we had in all of 2012."
In this video, recorded at the 2013 RSA Conference, Arkin discusses how Adobe is managing the increase in zero-day attacks, and responds to criticism that Adobe software isn't secure enough for the enterprise. Arkin also talks about the ongoing efforts to improve the security of Adobe software and theAdobe software update process, details regarding its recent discovery of the first in-the-wild exploit against Adobe Reader 10, Adobe's reaction to the built-in PDF reader in Firefox 19 and the Flash "white list" in Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8.
