Security analytics tools that improve visibility, provide protectionDate: Feb 14, 2014
In this presentation, Josh Sokol, an information security expert for National Instruments, examines the perennial problem of system visibility, which he says is a key reason infosec pros fail to recognize and respond to attacks on their systems in a timely manner.
Sokol then explains how security analytics are the key to clearing this informational fog. A well-assembled "ecosystem" of security analytics tools is what's needed now -- tools that talk to one another and are able to penetrate data that is too often stuck in silos. Once that data is clear to the pros, they next must employ a platform to analyze and report on the threats that data reveals.
Advanced security analytic tools, says Sokol, will allow enterprise IT professionals to analyze data faster, spot security threats and respond in real time.
