About the White Paper:
The findings in this edition of the Symantec Internet Security Threat Report are based upon over 20,000 sensors worldwide monitoring network activity in 180 countries, as well as data from more than 500 Symantec Managed Security
Services customers. This new report clearly shows that the risk of blended threats and attacks is rising. Other potential threats are identified, such as the rise in peer-to-peer attacks (including instant messaging), mass mailers (like MyDoom and Netsky), the general trend toward theft of confidential information, and the rapid increase in the number of Windows 32 (Win32) threats.
