Sophos to use Shavlik in its NAC offering

Shavlik Technologies announced Tuesday that UK-based security vendor Sophos will begin delivering Shavlik’s patch management technology as part of Sophos’ NAC Advanced product for controlling unauthorized, guest, and non-compliant computers. Sophos said the move means its customers will have access to “the world’s most advanced security assessment technology.”

“We are pleased that Sophos has selected Shavlik’s patch assessment capabilities to enhance their newest enterprise solutions” Mark Shavlik, president and CEO of Shavlik Technologies, said in a statement. “This integration will make it very easy for Sophos’ customers and partners to come to Shavlik in order to simplify and automate the next step of deploying of critical security patches across their network.”

Said Shaun Paice, group product manager at Sophos: “Shavlik has a reputation for producing quality solutions backed by a sophisticated security data team, and we are certain that their technology will bolster Sophos NAC Advanced’s ability to support real-time security and compliance.”
