CISSP training video: Security Architecture and Design
In this CISSP Essentials Security School video presentation, Shon Harris details the first half of the Security Architecture and Design domain, including system components, system protection, CUP and memory management and more.
The Certified Information Systems Security Professional Security Architecture and Design domain within the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) focuses on the architectures of computing systems and how security is integrated into the architecture level.
In this special multimedia presentation from SearchSecurity's CISSP Essentials Security School, expert CISSP exam trainer Shon Harris, CEO and founder of Logical Security, offers a comprehensive overview of the Security Architecture and Design domain of the CBK.
Harris begins by explaining what a system architecture is, taking time to fully describe the central processing unit (CPU), what it does and the importance of its components to security. She continues by discussing numerous terms students should be aware of prior to taking the CISSP exam, including Multithreading, multitasking, multiprocessing and multiprogramming.
The presentation continues by outlining memory protection and memory management processes, trust levels, protection rings and APIs. Harris concludes with a discussion on process isolation and how it can be achieved.
