Merilus introduces first firewall on PCI card

Merilus Technologies made Comdex the forum to introduce the first firewall on a PCI card. FireCard provides virtual private networking, bandwidth management, intrusion detection and wireless alerting. FireCard also includes external/internal ethernets, a dial-up modem port and secure embedded operating system and Merilus' Gateway Guardian Security software.

Russian in to VPN technology

Security software developer InfoTeCS has partnered with Moscow-based system integration company ZAO Race Communications, to market the virtual private network (VPN) technology-based solutions. The marriage joins Race's services and equipment with InfoTeCS ViPNet solutions.

Pentasafe Vigilent about security

Security product vendor Pentasafe Security Technologies releases Vigilant Policy Center, a management tool that will simplify for companies the process for creating, publishing and managing security policies. The product features and administrative component and a separate user site. The first component provides templates for managers to create policy; the second allows users to log on, read policies and take quizzes demonstrating their understanding.

European center puts its faith in PKI solutions

EuroSignCard S.A. has decided on Entrust Technologies as its vendor to supply public-key infrastructure solutions for its Luxembourg trust center. These solutions will also be used for interoperability and compatibility testing of digital signatures issued in Luxembourg conforming to the new European Union Digital Signature Directive.

AS/400 gets a new password

Internet file transfer software and password management software provider Proginet has released SecurPass-AS/400 password management software for IBM AS/400 servers. SecurPass-AS/400 provides AS/400 enterprises with a reliable, secure, centralized password management solution to strengthen and streamline their data access processes.

Personal firewalls: Free and Tiny

Router and firewall software solution provider Tiny Software recently released two versions of its Tiny Personal Firewall. Free for personal use, v.2 prevents unauthorized access, offers high security for computers and is based on the ICSA-certified WinRoute Pro security technology. Tiny Personal Firewall v.2 can be selected to run manually or as a service and includes a desktop administration utility for full configuration of the security engine either on the same computer or remotely.
