RSA Security announced ClearTrust access management software for Lotus Notes, leading off this edition of Quick Takes. Also included are items from SonicWall, Cerberian, GFI, Lumigent Technologies and Ecora Software.

RSA extends support to Lotus Notes

RSA Security announced the availability of ClearTrust Web access management for IBM Lotus Notes. ClearTrust Web software provides single sign-on capabilities and authentication policy management as part of its identity and access management solution. Using ClearTrust, Lotus Notes organizations can manage online identities to providers users with SSO to sensitive data and networks, and access rights.

SonicWall premieres the TZ 170 security platform

Integrated Internet security vendor SonicWall launched TZ 170, a comprehensive security platform with an integrated firewall and IPsec VPN appliance for small- and medium-sized businesses. The TZ 170 runs on SonicOS 2.0 and provides features such as ISP failover, load balancing and browser-based interface. Pricing starts at $495 and is available in 10-node, 25-node and unrestricted-node configurations.

Cerberian sanitizes Web surfing

Internet content filtering vendor Cerberian announced Dynamic Real-Time Rating (DRTR) technology. DRTR is part of Cerberian's outsourced management solution that hosts a database of 4.7 million categorized Web sites. DRTR is activated when a user requests a Web site unknown by the database, analyzes a site's content and puts it in an appropriate category -- all without any lag time experienced by the end user.

Free e-mail tests help administrators identify vulnerabilities

Messaging security vendor GFI announced free e-mail tests via its Email Security Testing Zone that provide IT administrators with a means of finding out if their systems are vulnerable to certain exploits that use e-mail. Some of the new e-mail tests look at long subject attachments, attachments with no filename, pop-up exploits and double file attachment vulnerabilities.

Lumigent Technologies updates Log Explorer

Data management vendor Lumigent Technologies announced Log Explorer 4.0 for identifying causes of problems in Microsoft SQL Server and recovering lost data. New features of Log Explorer 4.0 include new instant notification, user-based filtering options, table restoration from backup and undo/redo commands for triggers, views and functions.

Ecora Software announces Enterprise Auditor 3.0 Server Suite bundles

Ecora Software unveiled new bundling offers for its Enterprise Auditor 3.0 to give customers more flexibility in meeting their configuration and management requirements. Enterprise Auditor 3.0 offers three new suites for Windows Server, Linux Server and Unix Server. Pricing begins at $995 per system for the Windows and Linux bundles, and $1695 per server for Unix bundles.
