Hercules 2.2 announces certification for Windows 2000/2003

Vulnerability management vendor Citadel Security Software announced that its Hercules 2.2 is certified for installation on Windows 2000/2003. This certification ensures that Hercules can fully integrate with Windows and provide vulnerability reporting. According to Citadel, Hercules 2.2 also features improved navigation, reporting and searching capabilities in addition to a new Web portal for customers. Hercules 2.2 is available for purchase.

CyberGuard updates appliance with intrusion detection

CyberGuard Corp. announced intrusion detection and Web proxy cache technology as the newest features to its SME575 SnapGear VPN/firewall appliance. CyberGuard constructed the intrusion detection feature around the open source tool Snort, so that admins can use other open source tools to examine alerts. Using another open source tool Squid, CyberGuard built their Web cache proxy featured. Pricing begins at $949 and will be available by the end of the first quarter.

eIQnetworks unveils FirewallAnalyzer Enterprise 3.5

eIQnetworks announced the latest version of its browser-based firewall/VPN analysis and monitoring product FirewallAnalyzer Enterprise 3.5. Version 3.5 provides organizations with powerful antivirus reporting features including more than 100 antivirus-related reports according to eIQnetworks. In addition to the new antivirus capabilities, version 3.5 includes enhanced support for current and historical reports, and for CheckPoint NG1, WatchGuard, Astaro, StoneGate and Borderware Firewalls as well as faster reporting capabilities.

NETASQ releases Global Admin IPS-firewall appliance

NETASQ released its Global Admin, an IPS-firewall appliance for the enterprise. New features include centralized management and deployment of filtering rules as well as enhanced updating, monitoring, logging and reporting features. Organizations with Global Update can update to Global Admin free of charge.
